Privacy Policy

We built InQuestion to collect as little as possible. Here is exactly what we store and why.

Hosts (people who create games)

  • Your email address and a hashed password, so you can log in. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Your games and evidence kits: names, settings, chosen cases and the QR codes you printed.
  • Purchases: which product you bought and when. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.

Players (guests)

Players don't create accounts. When someone joins a game, their browser generates a random device ID and stores it locally so they can rejoin if they close the tab. We store that random ID, the name they type in, and their gameplay: which clues they found, their accusations and minigame scores. We don't ask players for an email, phone number or location.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use advertising trackers or sell data. The site uses your browser's local storage only for things that make it work: keeping a host logged in and remembering a player's device ID. If we add analytics, we'll use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free tool that doesn't track you across sites, and we'll update this page.

The camera

The evidence scanner uses your phone camera only on your device to read QR codes. No images or video are uploaded.

How long we keep things

Host accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them. Game data is kept so hosts can see past games; we may delete old, finished games after 12 months. Ask us at any time to delete your account or a game and we'll do it.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction or deletion by emailing [email protected]. If you are in the EU, UK or California you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA, and we will honour them.

Children

InQuestion is designed for hosts aged 18 and over. Younger players can join a game hosted by an adult; we don't knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the first name or nickname typed into a game.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
